Carolyn Donnee’s Bridesmaid Jewelry
I am happy to show off the earrings and charm bracelets that were designed for Carolyn Donnee’s wedding to Chad McIntyre. The wedding is next weekend, August 23rd and will be located in Wilmington, NC. I just so happen to be one of the lucky bridesmaids! Carolyn chose to have different earrings for each bridesmaid and a charm bracelet that ties the whole look together. She is keeping the earrings a surprise for her bridesmaids, but since I designed them I was in on the secret. The thing that I don’t know is which earrings I will be wearing. Please let me know what you think about the designs and if you or someone you know is getting married have you considered custom jewelry for those most important to you on you wedding day?

Here are a couple of pictures of the necklaces that I have been working on this summer. I would love to hear what you guys think or if you have any suggestions for something new and exciting. And of course if you are interested in owning a “one-of-a-kind” Design by moi, drop me a line and I’ll give you some more information about that piece… Enjoy the pics!
New Designs on the Way…
Over the past couple of weeks a heat wave has taken Charlotte by storm and what better way to beat the heat then by wearing jewelry that is even hotter. I made this red coral teardrop necklace for a friend’s belated Mother’s Day gift. There is no better time that now to be designing jewelry because the colors are so vibrant and beautiful. I also made another necklace that looks similar to this in purple. So wedding season is really getting under way now. I am almost done with the jewelry for my friend Carolyn’s wedding, but I can’t post it here yet, but soon because the wedding is only 2 months away. But I will also be designing the jewelry for my cousin Rachel’s bridal party. Her wedding is very soon, August 1. Then I will also be doing the jewelry for Sarah Beggs wedding, which is in September. I will be posting more frequently now that I have a great new camera. Now it is easy to photograph my designs, so get on my case if I don’t post more often.
The Beautiful Bride Emily
I just wanted to share my first bride of 2008 with everyone. This is Emily and she is getting married on June 7, 2008. She is wearing Swarovski Crystal earrings by ME!!!

Two weeks ago I met with Emily my first bride of 2008. She and her fiance are getting married June 7th at Holdem Beach. The funny thing about that date is it is the same as my parent’s wedding anniversary. I thought that was a good sign since my parents have been married for almost 28 years. Anyways, Emily is going to be awesome to work with. She is your perfect little southern belle having a casual wedding on the beach. So to go along with her team of the beach she has asked me to make a couple of necklaces and pairs of earrings with little Swarovski Starfish beads. I just got the items I ordered in a couple of days ago. I can’t wait to show her what I have created so far. Once I show her she will hopefully find a design that she likes and I will start making all the items for her 7 bridesmaids and 1 junior bridesmaid. Plus I am making her some really beautiful and sparkly earrings. They are gorgeous! I just hope that she likes them too. So I will put pictures up.

After a great weekend in Pittsburgh I am happy to be back in Charlotte, where the weather is much better than the weather in Pittsburgh. While in the Burgh there was about 3 inches of snow on the ground in addition the wintery mix that brewed up over the weekend. Meghan came with me and we had a lot of fun! We went shopping, out to dinner, and to two really fun Clubs/Bars. On Saturday we met some other friends at the Waterfront to catch a comedy show at the Improv, then went to the Dueling Piano Bar, Sing Sing! The piano bar was so much fun! Supposedly Charlotte is getting a Dueling Piano bar in the highly anticipated EpiCenter. Can’t wait for that!
So this upcoming weekend I am doing a private show with Laura Vossberg for our friend Jenny. I don’t know many of the details except that we are donating 15% of the money that we make to help fund a trip for the kids that Jenny teaches. Should be a good time, except for the fact that I have a lot to do to get ready for the event! Everyone should be able to guess what I have to do every night after work this week.
Also I am meeting with a bride-to-be about designing some jewelry for her bridesmaids. Emily (the bride) was referred to me by Laura’s boyfriend Brian. It’s so nice to have friends that have faith in what you do, enough faith in fact that they recommend me to someone I haven’t met yet. I am really excited to meet with Emily on Thursday and get to know a little about her and her upcoming wedding. Should be a good time.
Well I think that is all I know for know. Keep me in mind if you or one of your friends are getting married in the near future. I am always happy to help in any way I can. I think I will be helping out with my friend Carolyn’s bridesmaids jewelry (and I get to be a bridesmaid, so you know the jewelry will be awesome) and also my friend Sarah’s wedding jewelry. Don’t worry, once my website is live I will give you all a sneak peak! Ta Ta for now! ~Krissy

As many of you know I still call Pittsburgh, PA my home, even though I have been living in Charlotte, North Carolina for the past 2 years. Well I am heading back to my old stomping grounds for the weekend with my bestest Meghan Trainor in tow to see my brother Andy off to Australia for his study abroad semester. I am very jealous that he will be living on the beach for the next 5 months! Anyways, I am really excited about this trip as I will be spending some quality time with Mommy and Daddy Miller as well as my other best friend from the Burgh, Lauren Rapetti. We have some really exciting plans for the weekend including a trip to one of my favorite bead stores The Bead Mine, down on the South Side as well as a shopping day out to Shady Side. Plus lots of fun times at night hopping around the great city of Pittsburgh. My mom was busy hustlin’ some of my jewelry around my dad’s office this past weekend so I am very excited to see what people bought. I always love to learn what type of jewelry people are interested in! Thanks to Kelly for being one of my best customers!!
The only sad thing is that unfortunately I won’t get to see my baby sister Emily this weekend. She is busy at PSU volunteering at the biggest event on campus “THON.” I hope all your hard work pays off this weekend Emily! I will miss you :*(
I’m sure we will have a blast in Steelers Country. I will be sure to keep everyone up to date on any of the great bead and jewelry items that I find! Till next Time~Krissy

Last night was the Guys and Dolls Auction and things could not have gone better or been more fun. Laura looked beautiful in her green dress and matching earrings. She was auctioned off for $1400 to her boyfriend Brian. The night was so much fun because my friends were so into the auction in fact two other people at our table went shopping at the auction and actually won! Meghan was one of the winners and her date package came with all kinds of fun things like a massage and free membership to the YMCA and tickets to a Wake Forest NC State Game. The jewelry that I donated for the silent auction had some bids on it and went for over $100, so that made me really happy. But the most important part was that a lot of money was raised for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Laura is going to be the Co-Chair of the event next year and she is trying to talk me into volunteering to be auctioned off. I think it would be a lot of fun, so we will see net year. Once I figure out how to upload pictures to this blog I will show off some of the fabulous jewelry and fashions of the night. All in all it was a really great evening!
Guys and Dolls Auction
My Friend Laura Vossberg is one of the lovely ladies being auctioned off in the February 16th Guys and Dolls Auction event. Laura and all of the other Bachelors and Bachelorettes have been working hard to raise money and awareness for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. If you are lucky enough to bid high enough on one of bachelors or bachelorettes you will not only get a date with one of the most eligible bachelor or bachelorette, but you could also win sporting event tickets, trips to locations across the country, luxury spa treatments or a beautiful set of jewelry from my collection!!! I will be donating a pair of earrings to Laura Vossberg’s Date Package along with the jewels she will be wearing for the evening. But if you don’t want to bid to win a date with Laura, I will also be donating a matching earring and necklace set to the silent auction. I will post pictures when they are all finished. But if you are attending the Special event on February 16, 2008 then make sure you check out the Designs by Krissy Jewelry donation.
