Coolest Place to work ever!

I’m pretty sure anyone that reads this website (is there anyone out there???Hello???) isn’t a developer or an analyst, or I already work with you at Red Ventures. But if you are and you are interested in a new job as a web developer or an analyst, have I got news for you!!!

Hopefully getting another of these this year!

The other great part of this weekend was church this morning at Watershed.  Currently we are week 2 into the highly anticipated Stogies and Stiletto’s series.  I thought today’s message was really interesting, what love isn’t.  To quote the message today, Love isn’t attraction, dependency or bargaining.  Love isn’t remembering the wrongs or rights.  What I toke from this message today came mostly from the last phrase, Love isn’t remembering the wrongs or rights.  I took that as Love is present.  Love isn’t what we were like in the past or what we want to be in the future.  Love is right now.

I am guilty of living in the future.  I always find myself saying things like “I can’t wait for XYZ” or “won’t it be cool when this happens.” Things are really good in my life right now, definitely the happiest I have ever been, but I am curious as to why I am always looking to the next thing in my life.  I think it is time to start living in the present.  I have heard other people talk about living in the present and never really understood that statement until recently.  I think it is a good mantra to live by.  Living in the present.

So be it. Tonight I am relishing in the Steelers’ victory, loving that my hubby is right here beside me, and thinking about all the blessings current in my life right now.  It’s a good state of mind to be in!

I remember when we first heard this song.  Jarrid and I had just gotten engaged in Paris. (The whole engagement story is something made from little girls dreams, but it turned out to be my real life dream come true.  We can discuss that story at another time) We were on a train to Montpellier in the south of France to visit my sister.  Jarrid and I were sitting in two seats on the train across from my parents when my dad leaned over to Jarrid and I, handed us his first edition iPod and said, “Listen to this song, it reminds me of you two.”

Jarrid looked at me with such pride in his eyes.  He had 100% approval from my dad and that meant more than you could ever know to him.  Sure he had approval from my dad when he asked for my hand in marriage in the middle of the South Park Joseph Beth Book Store (we miss that book store) 2 months prior to proposing.  But this was a different level of approval.  He believed in what we were doing, the path we were taking our lives and that meant so much to Jarrid.  We decided to honor my dad at our July 3rd wedding by dancing our first dance as husband and wife to that song.  Great memories!

I guess this is as good a time as any to make my re-enterance back into the blogging world.  It’s been a really long time since I wrote on this blog. In fact my last entry was to highlight the engagement pictures we had just taken…now we are married. 6 months to be exact.  A lot has changed in my life in the time since I last wrote on this little blog.  I’m excited about taking blogging back up.  I need to make a commitment and stick with it. So this is me proclaiming my commitment to the blogging world (even if no one ever reads my little blog):

I commit to writing 3 new blog posts a week!!!

Jarrid and I first met in NoDa at the Evening Muse and since then we have been hooked on the arts district of Charlotte.  All of the beautiful colors of the leaves and the buildings will help you to understand why!  Thanks again Laura! You went well above expectations!

After visiting with Krissy I headed home to work on some very important designs, first was for Candice Lanning of The Beautiful Mess.  She won the Designs By Krissy Blog Contest on Alyse Woodwards blog in September.  She is just absolutely the sweetest person I have met in a while.  She and her husband are so cute and they take the most amazing photographs.  Anyways, they are hoping to adopt a baby in the next couple of months so along with the necklace that she won for herself I also created a necklace for her future adopted daughter and the biological mother.  I was just so touched by how thoughtful this gesture was.  Here are the designs that we came up with:

This month the fashion focus was on statement necklaces. My necklace, the Leann necklace (named for my mom) is the first necklace featured. A big thanks goes out to Melissa Lamkin who styled the spread. She is awesome!!! So if you get a chance go to your local book store and check out page 28 of the magazine.
